National Manufacturing Day

To celebrate National Manufacturing Day on Thursday, September 25, CBE+, Workwise, Destination Chesterfield, and DEBP have collaborated to create a fantastic event that highlights some of the incredible manufacturing activities that take place in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire. With this three-pronged approach, students may engage in a whole day of energising, enlightening, and empowering activities that will help them understand the industry and how today's young people can easily transition into it after completing their education.

Inspiring companies are supporting this whole day, which aims to showcase the variety of skills and abilities our students possess.

Phase 2

The main part of the day - the innovation challenge.

Introducing the activity that will be linked to a real life manufacturing challenge.

The students will work as a group to come up with practical answers and solutions. Developing their communication skills, their ability to work well within a team as well as being able to lead, direct and showcase their work are all real life skills required in the workplace - and this gives the students their chance to shine.

Phase 3

Following lunch - provided by the host business. The students will travel back to Chesterfield and get ready for the showcase.

Each team will set up, prepare and present their presentation/findings to the other schools.

The showcase is open to parents, schools and invited guests and give the students a platform to showcase themselves and also all the skills they have developed through the day.
